The vineyards grow on flat ground at a height of approximately 400 m above sea level, influenced by the River Duero. The low rainfall and fertility of the soils produces very low yields but excellent quality. The stony soils are beneficial for ripening and the variations between daytime and night-time temperatures produce the sugar level and balanced acidity of the grapes.
