The relief and soils vary in all three areas.
~ Arganda: this is the largest area and is crossed by the River Jarama, a tributary of the Tagus; its land is undulating and its soils are soft, limy and marly.
~ Navalcarnero: On the banks of the Guadarrama, with a gentle relief; the land is brown soil and not very limy.
~ San Martín de Valdeiglesias: The smallest of the three areas, its relief is more changing, with very sandy, not very limy soils.
The wines
/
Depending on the area:
~ San Martín de Valdeiglesias: the red wines are robust, full-bodied and rich in colour, very fruity and tasty, low acidity and very warm; the rosés are also very fruity and lively; and the traditional white wines of this area are fermented on the skins, traditionally made using the Albillo variety.
~ Navalcarnero: the red and rosé wines share features with the above, but their alcohol volume is lower.
~ Arganda: reds with good depth and colour, balanced with a moderate alcohol volume. The red wines aged in oak are complex and elegant.
This area also produces the highest-quality white wines, which are pale in the glass, smooth and very fruity on the palate.
